Hulali i ka lā
Acclaimed local artist Kaili Chun has designed a spectacular 800 piece copper ceiling installation based on the new brand story and area's heritage as a prominent gather place. Named Hulali i ka lā, meaning "glistening in the sun", each piece represents the belly fin of the Hinana fish, which used to inhabit the former Pi`inaio Stream. The many layers of meaning to the installation are especially significant with the hundreds of shimmering pieces that were individually sculpted by the hotel’s employees, their families and longtime guests sharing their aloha. The symbolic centerpiece of the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki is scheduled to be unveiled mid-December 2016.
