Third Tee on the World Famous Mauna Kea Golf Course
The most popular wedding venue at Mauna Kea Resort! This tee-box is situated high on an ancient lava bluff among coconut palms and sculpted fairways. The rolling blue surf of the Pacific Ocean, and vibrant hues of a setting sun, complete this dramatic setting. Due to course activity, only evening wedding ceremonies are permitted.
North Pointe Lawn
This large area is located on the north end of the hotel's grounds and offers expansive views of the beach and Hawaii's Kauna‘oa Bay. A lava stone patio serves as the stage for your Big Island wedding ceremony, while the adjacent lawn provides ample room for a wedding reception or dinner to follow.
North Garden
A short stroll from the lobby, experience the serenity of this lushly landscaped paradise. The ancient granite seated Buddha, one of Mauna Kea's signature artworks, sustains a tranquil vigil atop the grand staircase. Symmetrically arranged lawn areas, lava rock paths and tropical foliage create a space reflective of Hawaii's rich multi-cultural heritage.
Luau Grounds
Set among mature, sheltering trees and lush tropical flowers oceanside, this is one of the most authentic wedding venues of its kind on the Big Island. An existing stage, bar, imu (underground oven) and buffet lend themselves naturally to weddings or any other celebration. Due to the resort's regularly scheduled Hawaiian luau, Tuesday's are not available.
South Pointe Lawn
Adjacent to the beach, at the southern end of the property, lies an enclosed lawn for larger weddings or reception parties. Set among a grove of coconut palms and jungle-like vegetation, it presents an exceptional opportunity to create unique events which stray from the expected.
Manta Ray Lookout
Directly at water's edge sits a man-made circular lava outcropping. As the name implies, this locale provides resort guests with the popular evening tradition of viewing manta rays in the sea below. By day, there is no spot closer to the Pacific... without getting wet!
Garden Terrace
Adjacent to The Garden Room with low rock walls and easy access to the Manta & Pavilion Wine Bar at Manta Ray Point, the patio area is suited for gatherings of up to thirty (30) guests.

Lloyd Sexton Gallery
With hardwood floors and original art by its namesake, the Lloyd Sexton Gallery is ideal for formal gatherings, weddings and seated dinner events. It may also be utilized in the unlikely event of inclement weather.
The Garden Room
Terraced dining levels with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass panels on all walls offer panoramic views of the resort and the Kohala Coast. This venue features three tiers of seating and separate room for the buffet. All elements combine to bring the best of Hawaii's natural beauty under roof.
