Stargazing
The sky is so consistently clear over Kohala that even in mid-morning, the moon can still be seen hanging over the ocean. Stargazing is one of the most popular activities available at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel. A high-powered telescope is set up for you to view the Hawaiian skies with the guidance of professional astronomers.

Tennis
Just a 10-minute ride on the Mauna Kea Resort complimentary shuttle, you can enjoy our spectacular Seaside Tennis Club featuring 11 oceanside courts, located on the grounds of Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.

Water Sports
In addition to the heated freshwater pools and poolside whirlpools at both Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, guests can enjoy the white sands of Hapuna Beach. Rated the "Number one beach in America" by Conde Nast Traveler, Hapuna Beach is a long stretch of pristine white sand. There is also a little cove nearby where the waters are sheltered and clear. On any given day, giant sea turtles may drop in for a visit. Otherwise, it's the perfect place for swimmers and snorkelers to explore at their leisure.

Ages 5 to 12 years old
Mauna Kea Resort offers younger guests a "cool" place to enjoy days of fun under the sun. While you relax by the pools or beaches, or play a challenging game of golf at the renowned Mauna Kea or Hapuna golf courses, your children can have hours of fun with our Prince Keiki Club offering a wide variety of activities including:

Whether they sign up for the Keiki Club or not, children who stay at Mauna Kea Resort receive a special gift bag at check-in, with age-appropriate amenities:

Helicopter Tours
Mauna Kea Resort is the only Kohala resort with its own helipad on property. Sunshine Helicopters owns and operates a fleet of six "Black Beauties" equipped with five video cameras and are also cushioned, making them virtually soundproof for comfort. Activity desks at both hotels make sign up easy whether you want to see Kilauea Volcano to the South or the lush valleys to the East and everything in between. Private charters are available.

A complimentary inter-resort shuttle departs every 20 minutes daily between Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel and Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. Taxi service may also be arranged for transportation to the Waikoloa Beach Resorts, King's Shops (20 minutes south), Waimea Town and Parker Ranch Visitor Center & Museum (20 minutes north).
