With beautiful beaches, ravishing tropical scenery, wide range of activities, and magnificent hotels, the island of Maui can justly claim to be the world's most glamorous vacation destination.
Go from a sunny beach to a rain forest. Watch the sunrise over a dormant volcano or dive in an underwater crater. Dine in an elegant oceanfront restaurant or grab a box lunch to eat on the beach. To a large extent, the Maui that you experience is the Maui that you choose.
Many visitors make the drive up Haleakala, the dormant volcano, which rises to over 10,000 feet above sea level. Some arrive early to see a dramatic sunrise over Haleakala. Others arrange mountain bike tours down the mountain's narrow and winding roads.
For others, lush and rainy Hana is the least developed and the purest escape. The drive to Hana is an excursion in itself. Narrow winding roads and single-lane bridges lead to exquisite waterfalls, black sand beaches, great views, and the quaint little town of Hana with its art gallery, shops, and black sand beach.
No matter where on the island you choose to visit, it is easy to see why Maui is no ka oi – Maui is the best!
