Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is currently undergoing an extensive $150 million repair and renovation project to enhance and preserve this historic Big Island hotel for generations of guests to come. We anticipate reopening December 2008 and taking reservations in the Summer.
The project will be completed by a team of experts in their field, selected in Mr. Rockefeller's tradition of excellence. These include golf course architect Rees Jones, interior designer Robert Barry and architect John Hara. This Kohala Coast luxury hotel's original character and sense of place intended by the design team in 1965 will remain intact and undisturbed.
In the meantime, we have other great Prince properties in the Islands, including Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, just south of the Mauna Kea, overlooking one of Hawaii's very best beaches, the Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki on Oahu and the Maui Prince Hotel, Makena Resort on Maui.
